The good thing now is if you’re running an ELD you don’t have to worry about logged speeds. If you spend your day out west in 75mph states and your drive time averages out to 72.8mph then so be it.

Could be the case as well, I've never been on that side of the industry aside from running a few head to/from auction in a gooseneck. The troopers got on well with Danny (ranch owner), so when certain things came up it was a way to make some extra.

I drive 100kph in the 100kph zones and 105kph in the 110kph zones. That extra 5kph makes a big difference in fuel usage at 63,500kg.

I usually stick to the speed limit until I need to pass someone going slightly slower than I’ll do 5 over max if he decides to be a prick and speed up I’ll just ride his ### now.

That equation only works if u average 4 mph faster than the other guy. There is so many variables to go into ur average speed. Just because u drive 75 for ur entire driving time doesnt mean ur gonna be 750 miles down the road in 10 hrs....

Anyone else notice that the faster you want to go the more you have to slow down? Seems like when I’m wanting to run 75 that I always have guys jumping out in front of me and taking 6 miles to pass.

You should hear some of the comments i get when the ole single stack mack strolls on by. Then hit the final split .62 od and roll coal all the way down the wagon haha. It's even better when they see the bright green seal on the doors
