Its a split tank. Kerosene/diesel. They most likely run very cold climates and like others have said run kerosene fired heaters for the bunk and block. So to be sure they have enough capacity to get back to a terminal to fuel that tank they have the big 50 gallon tank.
APU that runs on kerosene?

Some recommend running a Webasto on kerosene for an hour once a year to help clean it out.
They do run better on it.Rideandrepair and bzinger Thank this. -
Kerosene is same as jet-A, and number one diesel.

A buddy kept having issues with his wabasto heater he added a small tank and only uses kerosene in very cold weather but will use 50/50 in milder cold. He runs the engine and bunk heaters off it.
G13Tomcat, Rideandrepair and bzinger Thank this.
