I have 11 months. Estes is hiring, kinda hesitant.

Oh, the guy should definitely go for it. Worse they can do is say "no thanks"

At the beginning I had to take jobs at companies with high turnover, and there are always reasons why it is high. There are two primary reasons it doesn't work out, and I do not compromise on safety or pay. That's a period after that sentence.

I already know the big companies suck, the more paperwork the less I'm interested. What you fill out may be used against you.

If a driver stays on and compromises on safety to do so, they may end up with more reasons they are unhirable than if they left before their license or DAC was screwed. That's the real reason for DAC and HireRight and Tenstreet and Intelliapp, to keep a driver in the harness, trapped and compliant.

Stay away from companies who use those, esp at the beginning when you're likely to make small mistakes that they'll jump on with both feet to make you feel like you're a bad driver and should be grateful for their crappy treatment.

My resume has a paragraph for each entry about why I left. I've had potential employers express concern, but they called me anyway, funny how not compromising on safety perks interest.

Many good little trucking companies are run by people who went through that crap, your story is no surprise to them. They're looking for people who are smart enough to leave that circus.

If there's demanding BS at the beginning, it won't get better later on.

All the above is to rebut the tired job-hopping stuff. If a company worries about that too much, you don't want to work there.

If you want to work for Estes, put your app in. Their HR have heard about safety and pay concerns before. They've hired many refugees from mega outfits.. Don't be shy about applying again for the same or other positions, it shows that you're interested.

    Go for it.

Exactly. They expect the drivers to be so worried about the slightest little 'blemish' on their record while they get to do whatever. Its bull.
