I don't know the guy; he posted on here and thought his trucking career was over.
We got him on the road though.

I've been pretty torn about this, because I'm incredibly miserable working for NYSDOT for a number of reasons. However, the "job security" is solid as well as the health benefits. Also, there's a pension if I can hang on for another 30 years.

This is not my area of expertise, but if the official accident and citation no longer show on your driving record, why not just exclude putting US express as a past employer and fill it in with something else? Like you worked for yourself or spent that time trying out a business?

Oh, my mistake. It's good to hear that the McDonald's termination didn't keep him from a driving career.

On my Tenstreet "Driver Pulse" profile, it mentions that the FMCSA requires CDL drivers to disclose the last 7 years of their commercial driving history to employers. Since I drove for US Xpress within that timeframe, I didn't want to take any chances. However, I wouldn't be opposed to leaving that information off 3-4 years down the road.

I live in a small town called Hancock, which is about 40 miles from Binghamton and 100 miles from Syracuse. I'll definitely keep an eye out for good local regional carriers.

You are required by the FMCSA to disclose any driving jobs you've had in the last TEN years, and all work of any kind for the last three years. Most companies will want you to account for any employment gaps in the last three years as well. If you were self employed, they might ask for tax returns.

Negative information is supposed to come off of your HireRight (DAC) report after seven years, just like bad credit. That may be where you got the seven year figure from.

"Normal" rules do not apply to the reason Prime will not hire you. They are not hiring people from Corvid-19 hot spots, New York is one of them. They put a video on You Tube every week.
