Alright, I just recently finished CDL training and passed my CDL test. I have an automatic restriction on my license. I have an appointment to apply for all endorsements first week of October. I have applied at all of the typical starter companies that are known for taking on less desirable candidates with all "No"s so far (though TransAm may be willing to give me a shot). I have 2 felony convictions from 2006, 3 accidents in my personal vehicle in the last 5 years (all non-injury), and a spotty work history. I have scoured Craigslist to only find that all the companies in my area (DFW, Texas) are looking for experienced drivers. What I have found is that companies are willing to work with the accidents, but not the felonies...or vice versa. CFI even told me, get 3-6 months under my belt and they would be willing to give me a shot, and that was coming from safety. Anyway, any thoughts on stones I may not have turned over, or any ideas on much lesser-known companies in this area that would be willing to take on a recent graduate with several hurdles?
Chinatown, I know that you will weigh in here. My situation is definitely not an easy one, but just as I spent months going through the process of getting a grant, waiting for the school to re-open, and nailing that CDL test the first time...
I will somehow some way find that one company willing to give me a shot. And that's all I need...just one shot. Alright, rambling now. Looking forward to any responses that may come. Thanks to all in advance.
