:D@McUzi man you will notice how quickly customers get their forklift when you tell them about the charges.

Nope! In a position years past at this point, I had to terminate an employee for something similar to this. Not a liftgate but a quid pro quo of sorts. Employee said to the effect of "for $20 I'll..." and it really went up the customer's backside to the point of her calling corporate and it trickled all the way down to my desk to shovel the excrement.

I am just now getting caught up with your whole thread, well it sounds like you have settled right in there McUzi, and again congratulations man, as far as the linehaul position you already know what my input would be so no sense in saying it again, I know our situations are completely different and if I remember correctly you still have little ones at home, so I know you have to consider that as far as home time, oh speaking of the polo shirts, my cheap ### (even though we do get the free allotment every year lol) finally went with some after two years here, been wearing button downs the whole time, I gotta admit the polos are alot more comfortable.

i wanna learn more from customer's perspective. is it be that all the ltl's are expensive for them? what's the pro's of picking saia over old dominion or reddaway, or estes, or vice versa, etc. we know the differences in terms of kind of company it is to work for to some extent, but i wanna learn more about the customer's perspective.

Ugh... I hate the idea of wearing golf course shirts for a trucking job.

Damage claims and reliability have a bearing on that. I also think it depends on which way you’re going. Every carrier will charge a different rate for a different direction.

Oh yes. My wife interestingly enough is almost poking at me to take the switch back over to linehaul. These times are where she proves that she does listen to me and not just "yes me to death" in hopes that I'll stop bothering her.

"You keep seniority when you transfer to another location as long as you stay in the same job right?"
    "Yes."
"Just find a barn that has daytime runs so there can be light at the end of the tunnel and I can deal with it."
"Yeah, I know, I just don't want to stress you out with the kids running nights again."
"You've changed since you left FXF, you were always excited to go to work, now, not so much."

Part of me suspects that this is her reacting to me leaving the house at 0800 and getting home at 2000-2100.

I'm probably going to go down the LH rabbit hole again in all honesty.

Concur. One of our yards fired a really good guy because, unfortunately, he chose to do that.

I did once have a customer throw an absolute fit over the charges when he didn't want to move another piece of equipment 5' and get on the forklift. He lost. :D
