The whole internet needs to be destroyed.
Cell phones need to be destroyed.
Someone please nuke this hole back to the stone age.
    This experiment has failed badly.
    Need to start over.

Yes I know. Human drivers are so perfect and never get into accidents.

    Brandt and Upinsmoke Thank this.

I'm not taking the side of the autopilot idiot car or driver but if you look at the picture and remember all those times you saw a cop park 1/2 in the road, 1/2 on the side, thats what this looks like.

    tommymonza and Upinsmoke Thank this.

This is merely a driver assist feature which requires 100% of the driver to pay attention.

Obviously the driver wasn’t paying attention to crash into a parked car.

Tesla has just breached the 1 billion miles of safe auto pilot driving with their cars.

Their average is roughly 2 million safe miles to 1 accident - which is crazy good in my opinion.

    Upinsmoke and disoba Thank this.

Not really, because it's lying with statistics. Autopilot only counts the miles when autopilot works. Nice clear day with no weather being the main factor, as well as low enough traffic volume to not be in stop and go traffic, etc.
The average is just that, the average of all miles reguardless of weather, traffic, construction, etc.

tommymonza, Bud A. and Upinsmoke Thank this.

I’m not sure if I should take you seriously with your response ....

“Autopilot only counts the miles where it works”
wtf kind of statement is that  Of course it only counts the miles where it works! That’s the whole point.

I can tell you from experience that autopilot also works in snow, rain, construction, bugs and traffic.....well because I’ve logged thousands of miles in my own car on autopilot o_O

    Upinsmoke Thanks this.

Cop WAS partially in the left lane with his lights flashing assisting at an earlier accident. Whether on autopilot or with someone driving that it something that should be noticed.
