Cool cool cool. Good to see that truck is still around. Chavez had his trademark lights on the visor before anyone else did back then.
My uncle and his running buddies used to run around the area when Chavez had that on the road. Don’t be surprised if you get that engine running again that it has had some “extra” things done to it. Last we heard through the grapvine 20 years ago maybe was that truck was sitting down off of US 77 somewhere. Nice find.

 

A friend of ours owns Main Line Express off of Jackson Rd in Pharr. South of US 83. He collects Freighliner cabovers, Gmc Crackerboxes, Emeryville Cabovers, and has a couple W900A’s. He goes by “Golden Goat” He may be able to help with someone to move it for you if it is a fairly local move. Mike’s a great guy and loves everything trucks. He’s been down there his whole life so he probably remembers that truck when it was running.

 

If you see any of these down that way it’ll be him. He’s got freightliner cabovers of every year from ‘78-‘83 running around every once in a while too.
