Well, I've been lurking here for the last 3-4 months trying to keep up with Rob, Al, Bronc and the rest of the plethora of charactors that populate this board. It has been very educational, entertaining, and inspirational to say the least.
While having gone through my own trials over the past year, losing a high wage doubles gig after five years, watching my good credit plummet to the dumper, wondering where the next house payment is coming from...etc., at least this place has let me know I'm not alone.
It looked for awhile like I was gonna have to buy myself a job also, but as a little good luck would have it, I landed a tanker yanker job about a month ago with a chemical company not far from my house. The pay is decent, miles are a little short right now, but that's probably because I'm the new guy. It's easy work, mostly out and back running the midwest, it'll do for now, anyway.
.....I'm pulling for ya Rob. No need pointing out the woulda-shoulda-coulda's to ya....got many of those of my own to point out if I feel like it. If ya ever get in a bind in eastern Iowa, I'd be happy to try and help, just throw up a post, I'll see it.
.....and by the way.....I've kinda been thinkin about opening my own pharmacy.....you wouldn't happen to have a few old prescription pads and maybe an old lab coat or two laying around would you?PharmPhail Thanks this. -

i hear you there pharm. on buying your own job. it's looking like i may end up doing the same thing. not that i wouldn't mind making money off my own sweat instead of someone else making money. your problem was being a rookie. my problem is being local. and the fact that i can't get a reference from the only OTR company i had and worked at 12 months. the only company even bothering to hire me on was swift, being a fleece operator. and they were bending the ropes since i've been local 7 years now. -
Rob, Just a quick fly by post...I'm back in Ga. , I'll deliver in the morning then go and start working on your truck. I'll call you when I know something.
Ken, Tankergirl80, Fratsit and 3 others Thank this.
