The official anouncement from TA/Petro is a new franchised TA truckstop is opened as of July 15. The former Satellite 75 Truckstop on I75 in Lake City, Fl. is the newest member of TA/Petro. I used to stop here when running my linehaul runs from Orlando, Fl to Valdosta, Ga and it was a great place to park and have a good meal but it closed and sat empty and for sale for years. It finally was purchased and transformed into a beautiful "new" truckstop. Evidently the new owners decided that a relationship with TA/Petro was to his advantage and I applaud him for keeping it open. I will be stopping to check it out on my next trip north on I75.

Supersnackbar,
You are so right. I used to stop here nightly on my run to Valdosta, Ga and back and at least it was great to have a truck stop to take a break. It was also a plus to have an independent trying to make a living in a sea of the "Big Corporate" truck stops. If he has to franchise with TA to keep it I'm all for it. Just look at the TA and Petro in Lexington and Raphine, Va. which are franchised, they have expanded, remodeled and prosperred because the owners keep pushing forward. I wish them success in the future and will be visiting them again soon. -
Now the question is since it’s now franchised to T/A will they start charging for parking?
