I was stressed with my neck pain and had all the negative thoughts in mind so I ended up speeding without realizing. I was caught doing 20+ over the limit around Alexandria, VA. I was shocked when the cop told me I was doing 20+ in a 35 zone. I was polite and cooperative so he did not charge me with reckless driving.
My first speeding ticket ever, and first ticket in 5 years. My last ticket was an illegal u-turn in 2015. So I hired an attorney and begged him to do something about it, or atleast get me the traffic school option. What do you Pros think? In the worst case, will this speeding ticket be an obstacle on my way to trucking?
Thanks
On a postive note my application for the SBA EIDL was approved, and they deposited $20,000 in my account. The loan is 3.75% for 30 years and $98/month.

I am trying everything to take care of this. I printed out my driving abstracts from 3 states in the last 5 years, and none of them show any points or accidents. -

"Thank you for sending me all of this. I understand and appreciate the importance of your driver's license, and am already on top of this."Chinatown Thanks this. -
Trucking companies consider speeding 15 mph or more as reckless driving.
Tell your lawyer to at least get it reduced to below 15 mph over and much less if the judge will agree.
Do this and you won't have any problem finding a decent trucking job.

@Chinatown is correct about the carriers when it comes to these kinds of things. Take a look at the violations listed in ALL the tables I am linking to, this is from part 383.51, and as a Trucker, you need to be VERY mindful of these violations. While this rule DID NOT apply to you at the time of that speeding arrest (if you only had a regular DL) it is still important to know this and understand the information. AND be careful that when you do get a CDL this rule applies to you EVEN while driving a non-CMV in some aspects.
Take a long look at Table 1 look to the far left and you will see a list of 10 violations. Some carriers will NOT hire you if you even with a regular driver's license violate (1) (2) (4) (5) (6) and (9).KB3MMX and hopeful eyes Thank this.
