Pretty sad that a mega training company like TMC has nearly identical accident numbers as a full owner operator company like Mercer... And TMC has roughly 400 more trucks than Mercer...

The inspection numbers at TMC are a hell of a lot better.

I've worked for both and can tell you the hiring process at TMC is a lot more in depth than Mercer, not to mention probably half the guys at Mercer wouldn't even make it past TMCs physical assessment test that everyone has to do. 2 of the fat boys in my orientation was sent home for not being able to jump up on the trailer and that was the easiest part of the test. You gotta do that assessment in front of everyone in orientation.

The test it to root out all the workers comp recipients... LOL... The assessment is watched closely to make sure everyone is fit enough to do the job correctly and how they want it done.

Of course you can use your hands, how many people do you actually think could jump up on the middle of the trailer hands free? C'mon man.

Do you get points off if you dump the air suspension...?

I’m not sure I could do it.....I use the midfame of the truck or the icc bumper of the trailer....

Are you allowed to Parkour it? That would be worth watching. Ninja warrior truckers addition.

But seriously I sit in a truck stop for hours each week waiting for the person I’m meeting. I’ve seen my fair share of seals (think sea world) trying to get in or on the trailer.

Not just newbies. All the old hands talk about is their triple digit trucks and how "ain't nobody gonna tell me what I can do in my truck". Trucking is all about breaking every law there is, and being proud of it. If you want to run legal you are an outcast.

Try to see the positive side. Now they won't need to pay people to follow contractors, & Contractors will be able to have their coordinator with them in the truck.

I was looking at the dude's truck that cut me off.

It's an anteater 660. He has the long spiked lug nut covers.

Can't imagine his attitude flows over into his driving habits.
