Should I buy the kit from Volvo and replace the coax inside the mirror heads, or bypass all that and run better coax, and mount the antennas differently?
My truck does have the covers on the mirror brackets so I would have to come up with a different place to mount them. I kind of like the body mount antenna's better than mirror mounts anyway.
    Any other advice?
I know the am/fm use the same antenna's, but I have SiriusXM.

Go to a cb shop and buy it from them. You can probably get them to rewire it for you for like 150

Don't buy cheap ANYTHING! Most of the crap at truckstops or Amazon is Asian junk with quality so bad, you're lucky if it works out of the package. I ordered some turn signals from Amazon for my motorcycle, Asian crap, the quality was so bad, I had to use the stock guts. I wouldn't trust a dealer either. CB shop and get a name brand coax.

Good advice, thank you. I get down to Barkeyville PA occasionally, I think there's a shop there.
