@TexasKGB you have not directly attacked me and to be honest I am mostly picking on you. I am also impressed that you are defending this industry, your job and your generation. To be sure I am happy people such as yourself do this VERY important job. I would just council you do do this with the facts. You can't really see these changes I speak of unless you have like I had lived through them. Take care!

US DOT. 1975-2018: Fatality Facts 2018: Large trucks
US BTS 1991-2017: Fatality Rates for Highway and Large Truck Occupants | Bureau of Transportation Statistics

I’m not active in trucking???
I’ve been at it for 20 years, 15 of that as a peddle hand with a nationwide LTL, so you may now remove your foot from your mouth. -
To be honest, my attitude is in large part a result dealing with the costs and regulations the previous "professional" generations of drivers incurred with their cool. Cool don't pay the bills.
Now-uninsurable drivers calling me and my cohort unprofessional is funny. I've liked the jokes. -
