Our current U6 unemployment is 47 million, our current unemployment based on those who have dropped out is 50 to 54 million, the highest numbers as a percentage since the Depression, actually higher than the depression. Suicides are up, business failures are up, bankruptcies are up (which will lead to more business failures).

 

The problem is the government is paying people too much and they don’t want to go back to work.

My buddy up in Michigan works for a small manufacturing shop and his brother owns a machine shop

Nobody wants to come back to work. And the ones that will are going to the highest offer.

$15 an hour is getting 21 now.

Meanwhile what are the people who couldn’t collect unemployment living off from.

 

Well that ends in August. The $600 supplement is over.

 

Unless chuck and Nancy find a way to prolong this and give out more extensions.

 

There is another stimulus check in the works also.

 

They've got till july 31 to do it.

I'd just wish they would distinguish covid sick pay from UI. It's ridiculous people have to fight with the agency and their companies to get the covid sick pay.

The real problem is the government websites are not geared for this. Only simple unemployment. This stopping and starting is causing mass confusion for claims. They are swamped with problems trying to certify people. I filed on May 10th, and have yet to receive a check of any kind.

 

Does anyone in the government MAKE YOU leave your residence ?

How many in government want everyone but them to stay home and are hoping for worse economic conditions ? ... At least until November 4th 2020.
