I might be the last driver in the country without direct deposit. Don’t need it, don’t want it.

    Redtwin and JohnBoy Thank this.

I have to drop my trl at one of our former customers and I BT home from there every night. Sucks that Dairy Queen no longer lets trucks park for their break. Eat and go only now. But, you know how it goes, one ruins it for everyone else.

Whereas I haven't received an actual payroll check since 1992. Even if I do get a check for something else I just take a picture of it with my phone and deposit it through my banking app.

MidWest_MacDaddy and MACK E-6 Thank this.

Not missing a thing. The last 20 years of trucking have been a constant headache filled with nothing but stress all from technology.

    Lonesome and rachi Thank this.

Rather enjoy requesting a shower from my truck and walking straight to the shower. :)

You know, I have started really questioning my sanity the last few days. First day, my truck breaks down when it was supposedly fixed. Second day, I get a trl with a bad inspection and crank handle that wasn’t worth the tin it was made from. Third day, I get a trl that the electrical box fell off when I hook my pig tail to it. Today, same trl (got elec box fixed yesterday) tandems weren’t getting enough air to slide so I could get unloaded. Took me 20 minutes to force that issue. I mean, really? WTH did I come back here for again? I suppose I’m over sensitive right now, but dang it all to hades and back! I should’ve taken more time off. It hasn’t even been 3 weeks, but it feels like an eternity. Every little thing makes me feel raw. Ugh!!!!!

I often wonder what the word "DE-REGULATION" ever meant. From 1963 to 1980 I operated under "Regulations" I do not recall my log book being asked for, except for one time. I never was asked for my medical card. But then came 'DE-REGULATION" and boy did we ever get screwed from the rear. I learned real fast what "dog fashion" meant.

Deregulation meant that trucking went from being a career to being a job.

Lonesome, Grouch and JohnBoy Thank this.

except when the night cleaner doesn’t reset the “clean shower” and renders the reserve shower mode on the app useless.
