One of my biggest fears, in the dark once I came up on a motorist who had a flat tire, stopped cold in the middle lane, got out, and was standing behind the vehicle waving their arms,,,I just barely missed them. Poor trucker, except, I'd feel a bit better knowing there was nothing I could do. It's not fair to pick on the dead,,,but what an idiot, stopping in the lane of traffic and the cop, didn't they think that was a bad situation? I know, it happens fast, but the lack of common sense sure took it's toll here.

If the cop's flashing lights were on, the driver should have seen it and moved over one lane. The roads were dry, no fog. Another avoidable tragedy.

I'm sorry, I disagree. In order for this to happen, and lets give the trucker a shred of credit, it had to have happened fast. So much is usually missing from these reports, it's hard to draw a conclusion, but it's the 4 wheelers fault.

I don't think it necessarily matters who is at fault. This is just unfortunate on so many levels. When lives are lost, it's a big deal. It's dark and the motorist made a mistake. They may have not been from Ohio but the officer instructed them to move over, and i guess it was too late. I-71 is a high traffic interstate and sometimes these things happen unfortunately. My thoughts are with the family or families of those killed

The story header is misleading. It makes it sound like the truck tipped over on the car while on the highway.
As opposed that the driver tried to avoid the accident yet still colided. It was after the truck was down the embanment was when the truckwas pulled over by gravity.

The only excuses I will accept would be that the driver had just been shot 10 seconds before the accident, was having a heart attack or someone had hurled a brick through his window or he was blinded by a laser. The investigation will find this out.

I noticed the article didnt give any info on the occupants of the car, especially the driver. They gave the truckers name, age & the state he was from.

By the actions of the car (stopping in a travel lane), I'm wondering if the driver was a 15 year old that just got his licences the week before or some older person who has become slow thinking. Im betting it will be one of the two.

Regardless, since they gave info on the trucker, I'm also quite sure, they'll charge him. The driver of the car will be called a victim.

According to a separate article all it said was that the occupants of the 4 wheeler were from out of state.

I thought the same thing. 7 people in a car. Stopping in the travel lane. It's a bunch of kids.
