1. Any Petro in Minnesota or North Dakota.
2. Marlins restaurant at any StaMart truck stop in the Dakotas.
3. Any mom and pop truck stop in Louisiana and Mississippi. And there are tons of them.
4. (Back in the day) the We Bare All places that were down i75 from Byron,GA south.
5. The mom and pop places in Arkansas. The one in Gurdon on 30 makes a really good steak. JJs off i30 and Military Dr and the Hillbilly Hideout on 40 in west Arkansas.
6. The Tennessean. Best truck stop eating in Tennessee. Period.
7. Uncle Pete’s to the east of Nashville on 40.
8. That TA at CandlerNC on 40. Hear a waitress bragging about the steak. I was surprised...the ribeye was brainslapping good.
9. TA on Dallas Pike WV on 70. Haven’t been in there in a few years, but the manager used to put out a serious spread, especially on Sunday. And if you were stinky, she would call you out or call the cops.
10. The R Place restaurant at the TA in Morris,IL. Had a perfect prime rib with all the trimmings, 3 beers and 2 glasses of sangria. Was so good, I almost caught wood.Crude Truckin' Thanks this. -

Norman's restaurant at the Exit 44 truck stop in Prescott, Ar has been remodeled and has some pretty good food. Same exit as the TA but one the south side of I-30.

Joe Joe's in Red Banks, Flick's in Potts Camp, and Christy's in Hickory Flat? I always thought
Flick's could use a good power wash, but the food is excellent. Haven't tried the other two for
anything other than fuel stops. -
JoJos used to be decent, but last time I stopped there the food was just so-so. Been a few years though. The place at the stop in Hickory Flat was one of my go to places to eat. Really good food, but again it;s been some time since I was there. But the place always was doing a good business with the locals and that's usually a plus.

Way back before the internet this couple traveled the backroads in search of good food and restaurants. They then published them in books. I had a couple of them I used to bring with when on the road and tried many of the recommended restaurants from PA to SC to ND.
Not as fun now with the web, but you can still find some gems.
