Papa Joe for president. Funny the only trucks running were Amazon and Walmart. Guys like this are fading fast, all his gripes, while valid, are falling on deaf ears. Most of what he said, is why I got out of trucking. It's the people that have to, or can't do anything else that have to take everything in the shorts. The government knows that. Papa Joe comes from a time, like me, where our job was to haul the goods,by whatever means necessary. It was up to the driver to know their limits. And amazingly, we did okay. Trouble is, me , Squeek, Willie, Fluffy, Weasel, Wrong Number, 5th Wheel, and Lost Cause ( all CB handles),to name a few, got out, and nobody of our type replaced us. When I say, "our type", drivers that would run "round the clock", if need be, and rest when you're tired. We didn't kill anyone. Is it any better today, "clean" drivers running into stopped traffic. When drug testing 1st came out in '88, we all thought, this will never amount to anything, but one by one, they crammed more regs down our throats, and we had no choice, comply or you're out. Papa Joe won't be around much longer, and his gripes will die with him, because nobody will care, it's how we got to this point. Many drivers today accept todays rules as the norm, but when you hear the frustrations of drivers like Joe and me, it seems pretty clear, you drivers today really had it coming by not making some kind of stand years ago. And BTH? HA! That will never happen. I guess it's the love of the job that allows us to work for $2 bucks an hour sometimes. It's still better than having a boss down you neck, but with cameras and ELD's, even that goes out the window.

There is quite a bit of nose blowing, choking and coughing going on in this video.

You may have stumbled upon the origin of Covid19. It came front Papa Joe's truck in the summer of 19.

Id feel safer riding next to an old hand with a tooth pick than Alibaba or Ivan or yuri. There was no drug testing or anything in 82 when the old man started. 3+mil accident free miles. Never left the house w/o the bowling bag

    201 and Rideandrepair Thank this.

In case some younger drivers don't know what a "toothpick" was, there was some kind of drug, "upper", for sure, and you would dip the toothpick in a vial of that crap, and chew on the toothpick for miles of uninterrupted bliss. I knew a guy that did 5 Wis./Cal. turnarounds in a month doing the "toothpick". I was a local Joe, so I never needed that crap, but a LOT of road drivers did.
