Once upon a time I was a technical sales rep for Sanjel. I also did some joint projects with them at another company I started. I knew of the company from when I was at DS and learned the history of the company first-hand from the founder from when he was pretty much a one-man band. It was a real shame to see greed and hubris destroy what was once a pretty good company.

That is a LOT of jobs that are being eliminated, a LOT of families who depended upon their family members paychecks to sustain themselves.
I TRULY & GENUINELY wish them all the absolute best of luck.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

As optimistic as I am that oil will bounce back, I think 2009-2014 was the last "big" boom we're going to see. Oil is definitely not going anywhere in my lifetime but the days of long hours and high 4 figure take home paycheques is probably gone. Just going to be an average job from now on I think.

I agree with you on this. Also, I agree that oil will be more of an cyclical industry vs. a continual steady paced industry.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Oil has always been cyclical. Boom and bust. I think it'll stay that way but with less extreme highs and lows.

I often wonder if we'll see the rise of smaller companies/one and two truck operations vs huge corporations. I mean all the big players are hurting. Mullen Group let a bunch of employees go a few months back, Entrec Corp is hurting/filled for protection. Now BJ Services and Sanjel. These are just the ones I've heard about. There's dozens of smaller, 10-20 truck outfits that went under just in Alberta alone the last couple years.
