EF5EB22F-C01C-4BC8-8A82-49B1FAB7EABC.jpeg Got a call about making a run to Massachusetts. It’s a LCF Chevrolet body (No Box). Delivering from Maryland and according to what I’ve routed I’ll take 15N to I81, I88 to I90, I495. Giving me two days all expenses paid plus regular pay. I will have mud flaps installed. Will probably be a pretty bumpy ride. At least I’m avoiding I95. Does anyone know of any restrictions on any of my roads. I know I90 is the Massachusetts Turnpike and toll. Also I feel pretty certain I don’t have to worry about weigh stations or do I? Thanks.

Did you mean I-84 instead of I-88? If so, then yes, that is the optimal route to get to New England. Pretty sure you’re not required to bring it through the coops, since it looks well under 10,000 lbs gvw. The coops in PA, NY and CT don’t open very often anyways.

The coops in CT never open???? That's news to me. And op run up 88. Little out of the way but your back will thank you. 84 takes the cake for pot holes and the worst bridge joints of all time. Makes pa seem like glass roads lol

    Ruthless Thanks this.

In ny on 88 you have the 2 rest areas the dot likes to set up at and the random bush wackers. Set up at the cash box either on the freebe or the other side

As far as I know there are no permanent weigh stations in NY State. CT I’d stay off of 95

    Brettj3876 Thanks this.

So I88 is a better run than I84?. That’s good to know. Driving that thing without a box may be trying on my back. Wasn’t sure if I’d have to stop in the weigh stations. Also I guess I should still run a log. Will have paperwork from the dealership stating what I’m doing with their permission and running on a dealer tag. Any thoughts?

You have to pay attention to the weigh station regulations in each state but if it says trucks over 26k gross only I’d drive past it. Depends on what the specs on the truck is. Drive away drivers usually always have to stop if the power unit is above 26k gross since it’s a commercial/for hire operation. If you’re an employee transporting new private company equipment they probably won’t want to talk to you even if you do pull into a weigh station. If it’s a unit that doesn’t normally require a CDL to drive I wouldn’t worry about a logbook.

If your going to the east side on mass, I take 15, 581, 83, 81,78,287,95,395 into east mass, no MA turnpike.

Personally think 84 through CT is just as bad on 95 through CT.
