Just to be on the safe side, --- go ahead and do both. Who's gonna know? As far as I know rattlesnakes can't talk.

Its a small copperhead. The screen door jammed and i bent down to look under.. My face was right next to him when i saw out of the corner of my eye. Copperheads dont move a thing. No warning. They hit or they hold still like a plastic toy.
12g birdshot will knock a hole in PT porch decking, even at a grazing angle. Oh well. Just put the warshin machine over it.
I let a blacksnake live around us to keep the copperheads and mice in check. It was determined to get in the house this spring, i garden hosed it for like 3 mins to shoo it off but it ended up in the attic. Meh. Dont hear so many mice now.
Pulling off a tarp to find them coiled is always exciting. Im in middle TN @2000ft elevation. Supposed to be full of timber rattlers. Im in the bush alot but never seen one. The woods has been all black snakes, garters, little ringnecks or green snakes. Copperheads ive only ever seen near dwellings or roads.
Was just off the road in S florida and had gators in the irrigation EVERYWHERE. Squashed on the road next to mailboxes, u name it.D.Tibbitt, Brettj3876 and SmallPackage Thank this. -
You saw that demon heading for your house and you reached for a garden hose?. I would be doing mag dumps with my AR.
I love TN, wouldn't mind living there if I could but that was before you posted that it was serpent infested.FoolsErrand, D.Tibbitt, SmallPackage and 1 other person Thank this. -

Now that's how it's done. Get an even bigger snake to do the bidding for you LOL.

That’s what this guy does. The Texas Indigo Snake is a Rattler killer and nonvenomous and harmless to humans. If these are around rattlers will less likely be close. A trick you can do is lay coiled lengths of old black garden or soaker hoses around the house or buildings. Rattlers sometimes get scared off by that thinking they are the Indigo’s. You have to move them around otherwise after a while they get used to them and are not fooled.
FoolsErrand, D.Tibbitt and Brettj3876 Thank this. -
The Indigo’s get pretty big down in south Tejas and Mexico when Rattler eating is good.
