Regarding sleep. I sleep with my reefer, but if I do wake up for any reason I’ll check for a green light on the unit and maybe take a look at the set point on the Qualcomm.

Had a 2 for 1 when i was doing food service. Got a flat on the trailer and not 15min later the old whisper took a crap. Was my last stop before i took my 10 so it all worked out. Tech showed up within 45 min. Something electrical don't remember.
Always had it on continuous when i slept. Just like you guys if it shut off i immediately woke upFarmerbob1, alds, bzinger and 1 other person Thank this. -
Had a delivery in Henderson, NV once. Got there 2 days early so got a hotel. Night before delivery my phone went off with a message from dispatch saying unit shutoff. This was about 3am. Was out of bed and dressed so fast. Turned out battery was bad. Luckily temp didn't go up too much, was carrying ice cream. What was weird though was trailer was pretty much brand new. Tech said batteries typically last about 4yrs, trailer was maybe 1. Not sure if people steal batteries or not... lol

I’ve pretty much always pulled reefers, with a few forays into dry vans and a walking floor. Anyways, So far I haven’t had anyone mess with my reefer. If I can, I park away from everyone so if someone parks next to me, it’s their informed choice. On a few different occasions I’ve had to jump start a reefer, I carry half a set of jumper cables, I set it on continuous, hook up the cable from hot post on tractor to hot side of battery, fire it up. I used to call it my Van Wyk apu.....It kept enough juice in the tractor batteries so the Espar heater would run all night, etc.
