New truck driver hit utility pole

Looks to me more the side of the trailer hit, then dragged down the side to the tandems before blowing the tire.

How fast was you making this RH turn with cars all around..?

Some second chance company might, tell them you hit a light pole and got that ticket

In that situation, my opinion is you were going about 9mph too fast. AND.......you did not GOAL!!!! Lesson learned. Good luck!

 

When you hit that far up you aren't paying attention. Cars or no cars, when you make a turn with a pole on your right you go very slow and make sure you have it cleared. Doesn't take but a second or two to check your mirror. To hit like that you were way out of position. That wasn't even close.

 

Did you try locking in the differential to complete your turn, or your truck doesn't have that on it? Did you also damage those large boulders next to the poles?

 

You got the attorney to fight what? You did that. That lawyer simply took your money. That trailer looks like Stevens Transport you work for. You say you took that turn at 10 mph.....way too fast. What did Stevens say? Your career is not over but that definitely was careless driving. You're better off to pay that ticket and do better than that.

 

You made a mistake, things happen. Now you understand that you need to take things slow, pay attention to everything always. Double and triple check, if in doubt get out and look. There are companies that will hire you. @Chinatown can advise you best. There are people here that are gonna give you a hard time about it. But they themselves have forgotten that they were rookie once and made mistakes. Don't let it beat you up you'll get past it. Good luck!

 

If it ain't safe don't do it. If you aren't sure about the area you are about to drive into hit the flashers, pull the brakes, and scout it out on foot. If it's too sketchy get out of there and formulate plan b.
