Is it me or is freight very slow @Werner now.

    Because currently at werner there is a shortage of loads and the load priority is as follows:

    1. Werner Teams
    2. Werner Training Teams
    3. Solos

    So when he has a student on board he gets higher priority and better loads than when hes solo.

    I'm in the new Team Z group. I think that what it is called. Basically it is Werner new division to team up newly qualified drivers.

    We are getting the loads. We would be getting more but we are still learning. Our loads have been short runs. None have been over 1000 miles. I had one over 700 miles but that was a Hazmat and my co-driver was on home time.

    Fleet Managers know the priority.

    When I was a student and had over 320 hours of training, 3 out of 4 loads were over a thousand miles.

    I strongly believe trainers get the load priority. I also believe if you piss off your fleet manager then you will get crappy loads.

    The "pecking order" for loads is actually slightly more complex than that, you missed a couple layers that the longer runs have to filter down through.

    1. Werner Training Teams
    2. Werner Teams
    3. Pony Express (Net Ops)
    3a. Inter-modal (Rail Freight)
    4. Owner Operators
    5. Solos

    The poor solo driver, and the owner op to a lesser degree will get a lot of shorter runs picking up or delivering loads for the Pony Express, or worse yet the rail yard. The longer runs are out there, they just very seldom trickle down to the solo driver anymore.

    A good example of this is to work over a holiday when most of the trainers and Pony Express take the long weekend off. Then the solo driver will see some longer runs.

    Hey yall is werner worth drivin for i have herd some bad things but that was from other drivers, i was wondering how life was with them. Is there any drivers in here from NC if so how often do you get home? And are they a good company to start with?

    how many miles are you guys averaging these days? how much worse is it than last year??

    I average my miles for every week counting back over the previous 4 weeks. This week the weekly average is 2273, last week it was 2279.

    How many days out to how many home to get these miles? Are you getting home every week?

    I wish. I stay out four weeks and then lay up four days at home. The average does count those four days at home also. That is why I go back 4 weeks and do the average. I wanted to get a number that included all of my time not just the days I worked.

    werner drivers when you quit are fired make sure you check your dac report they will lie or put false information on it even if you do everything they tell you to do it happened to me after 18 months of driving for the people who are always saying that WE CARE AT WERNER what a lie
