Put one on in Missouri. Driving through Kansas in some strong wind and noticed the mudflap flailing, pulled over and sure enough it tore off. Cheap POS.

Was it bolted on right, with washers, to keep it from pulling through?
    Did you over tighten?

Did you break a bolt or two, and just have the two outside ones on?
Was there rust on the hangers or those cheap metal hangers with the 4 bolt pins?

Are you certified to do repairs?

    We need pictures.:yes2557:

    Certified?

Love that word. Need to be 'certified' in everything.

I'm certain 95% of the mudflaps on the market come from the same factory in China. They just stamp different logos on them.

I’ve never bought a mudflap. Usually just look on the back row of any major Truckstop. Cut it off, drill some new holes. I try to keep an old one in the side box. Lots of perfectly good ones laying around.

I bought a plain no logo one at petro and it is much thicker, definitely feels better quality. Also has a made in the USA stamp.
Yes has washers. No I don’t feel like I over tightened but then again I’m not certified to put on a mudflap, next time I’ll be sure to pay a mechanic 150 bucks to put one on for me while I stare at his certification.

snowwy, Opendeckin, bigguns and 3 others Thank this.

Oh and if y’all wanna hear the kicker, petro wanted to charge me to drill holes in the rubber flap. Unbelievable.

    bigguns Thanks this.
