Here's two more and the nearest school is in Burns Harbor, Indiana. Burns Harbor is a relatively new location for their school, so may have to ask about it.
They use the same school because KLLM owns FFE. They both run 48 states. I'd put FFE as first choice of those two. FFE has a terminal in Xenia, Ohio.

Oh, WOW.... sure didn't know THAT. Leme tell ya, if I were to go OTR again, that'd be MY top pick...close to home helps. Their equipment is TOP NOTCH also. Wonder why we don't hear much about them here.

I have been mostly impressed with Crete / Shaffer. I have never caught them in a lie. They sometimes tell me things I don't like, and they make occasional mistakes, but they have always been honest - at least everyone I have worked with has been.

    For whom this may help...

...I suppose the first question is whether a new guy wants to do van or open deck (or tanks, if there are tanker carriers that take on new CDL grads). If flatbed is the choice, then...

...I started with TMC, back in 2011. At the time I didn't know hardly anything about the industry, but I will say this: almost ten years later, I still use a lot of the training I learned there as a basis for doing my job today, particularly where it involves load securement. Some guys can make pretty good money there--I never did make the BIG bucks, but I made enough to keep myself and my kid fed--but to me they were a good starter company. I presume they still are now.

That said, and all experienced folk across the industry know this, they are also about some of the most micromanaging people ever on Earth. Everything you do in that truck, some computer system wants to tell on you. (I don't know how many of their trucks have two-way cameras in them now, but only a small handful did when I left in 2015). And yes, they preach running hard and maximizing your hours. All that did instill in me the work ethic I use to this day (although thankfully the company I'm with now doesn't run under anywhere near as tight of demands as did/does TMC). I still would recommend them to a newbie just for the experience in safety and load securement training alone.

They definitely ain’t the worst. I never had the misfortune for driving for them lol , the best in class thing makes them a easy target but they are definitely not the worst. Crst and England probably would be the two absolute worst.

What is your infatuation with Schneider.
    Your like there company shill.
    Yet you work for landstar.
You try to push Schneider on everybody.
Do you get kick backs or recruiting bonuses.
Why don't you go work for Schneider.
You always push Schneider, never landstar.
    It's makes no sense.
