CB World has everything you need. Pretty old post I know but I got my whip for $26 delivered to my door.

I ended up getting mine from a place called Viking CB in Fontana for $37. ♂️ I'll check out CB World though! Thanks!
Coffey Thanks this. -
102's are meant to be used with a 6” spring to make them 108”. Some places sell 108" whips. Maybe MFJ?
Yeah it's a MFJ-1966.
Not for something absurd... check out Giga Parts shipping costs.....

I wouldnt do a spring..I think a riser will do more especially for side banders..

Well, just had Ron Damron take a look at my setup. He got my SWRs back down below 1.5, but he didn't really "do" anything except take things apart and hook up his analyser. Somewhere in that process, it just started working again. Neither of us knows why.♂️
He's got my radio now to go put in a 2W toggle switch. Will mail it back to me in a few days.
With the 102" on there, I'm lower on 40 (1.35 vs 1.5) sitting still with the antenna angled forward. Going down the highway is yet to be seen. -
Sometimes all it takes is a good cleaning..Could be a droplette of water somewhere..Could be corrosion, bad coax connection..Might be the ant stud..What are you doin for rf grounding?

Trust me its not..Without the braided straps on the door you will likely get a ton of resistance..
Again i shouw that in one of my yt bids under same name..mike5511 Thanks this. -
Get a multi meter out and check every conection glin from stud to mount, mount to door and door side of hinge to cab side of hinge..
Mike..check out my vid called clean up i think its named.. -
Don't have any others anywhere else. Would need pictures of those if you have the time and the inclination to do so. Noise hasn't been a problem for me though; my ClrSpkr does a good job. It was just my sudden high SWR, chronic desire for more range, and the fact that you're also using a 102" now instead of a skipshooter that got me wanting to grab one.
I needed to test that the problem wasn't in my antenna. I also was hoping that 18 more inches of antenna would noticably help my transmit range. Haven't been able to test that last bit yet since Ron has my radio and because for the short amount of time that I've had the 102", my SWR had been through the roof. It started with my skipshooter suddenly and I couldn't figure out why. Neither could Ron today; out of sheer luck it seems things went back to working like normal.
