Since you already know exactly what your job requires you shouldn't have any problem following the rules and doing your job.
I guess you could always take this matter up with WM management. We'd be interested in their response.

    Lonesome and AModelCat Thank this.

We are usually notified of a drivers death and safety would definitely highlight it. Was it a contractor or a WM driver??

I couldn't put up with that level of micromanagement regardless of pay. What will you do about it? Good luck brother..

For anyone dropping in to one of our pits(or any pit type dock)...set both tractor and trailer before you walk behind trailer to leave paper work or open doors. A one axle lock brake system or elevated trailer axle can get you killed.

So what's the big deal? They're paying you to do a job and that job entails doing that ritual. If you don't like it, there are hundreds of companies to choose from instead.

I was gonna say something similar but like thousands of drivers would take your spot in a heartbeat for that pay and do the job required I don't give a flying flip if you pay me 100k you tell me to take my time do a pre-trip that's all good because I plan to do one every morning anyway. if you change trailers you best believe I am gonna make sure I won't break down alongside the road before taking it. I don't know about you drivers I know a few will agree with me but I don't think I will ever get paid enough be broke down along the side the road.

I know my grandfather and uncle would say you not but a person who had a license given to you out a crackerjack box. if your looking drive a truck without doing the bare essentials like protecting your ###.
your nothing but a four-wheel driver running around in a semi-truck without a care in the world.

But the bottom line it is your CDL do with as you please be the best or worst driver to your heart's content just don't expect much pity should DOT say you can't drive any more down the line

jon69, alds and nredfor88 Thank this.
