Ran a load for a broker early this week. Good price. No complaints.

She called me back today and wanted to know if I could cover another one for her on Monday. I've been watching the boards and felt I was leaving too much on the table.

So I said sure but do to tight capacity I'll need an additional 30%, assured her it was just business.

When the broker's reply is, "I don't even care about the extra 30%, I just need it covered", you realize that even at an additional 30%, you still left money on the table ;-)

Okay, so the same broker lady wants to know if I can do an additional load for her next as well.

What do you think? Should I tell her, "sure, but do to further market constraints and even tighter capacity, I'll need an additional 30%"

    LOL

    Obviously she likes you.
    As a carrier.
Maybe it is a chance for a longer time relationship.
    Regular loads and pay.

Well, I'm not so sure about the whole "like" thing. I mean how much does a software program where you accept or bid on a load (like Uber) like you? ;-)

Besides, these days the performance standard is so low in some markets, due to tight capacity, some of these brokers are resorting to anything that has a swinging ding dong these days.

I just left a place where a driver drove right through the exit security bar. The guard told me he almost ran through the entrance one as well.

    Said he "didn't see it!"...LMAO

Convoy, after approving my bid, notified me by their app that I won the bid ahead of those with lower bids than mine because of my good performance record.
I am not particularly proud of that because I am sure that many are getting the same "motivating" memos

The bid I won was nothing special but not bad in terms of taking me back home for the weekend from OH to IL and then back to MI: $2000 for 850 miles.

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Nice thing is that another load on Uber app popped up this morning from WI to IL that pays 5.45 per mile for 195 miles ($1060)...I decided to interrupt my stay at home and sandwich that load in between Convoys bundle, especially that it picks up and delivers the same day, today.
I call it a supplemental load.

I don't know... Like anybody else in a given time or when the winds are high. When the winds are low I sail out too but I am never the last and never the first in the pack of boats.
