Question about Texas rattlesnakes!!!

CORRECTION: Mexican milk snakes also have red and black bands, and they are also non-venomous. Regardless, if the red bands touch the black bands, the snake is non-venomous.

 

The only time I've ever seen snakes near a truck was at night time when I was driving down lease roads in the oilfield. Every once in a blue moon I would come across one slithering across the road. Away from trucks, I have seen a green snake in a woodpile, and a rat snake got into my garage when my ex-wife left the door up all day long.

 

The Love's in Texas are infested with Rattlers. Diamondbacks, and Sidewinders.

 

I did not know that sidewinders were venomous, and I did not know that we had them here in Texas.

I do know that we have Western massasaugas, and like all other pit vipers, they are venomous.

 

And east of I-35 they have Eastern Diamondbacks. West of I-35 Western Diamondbacks.

 

Those are some smart snakes!

 

Don't even get me started on the spiders.

 

Spiders are like cats of the incect world. I think you would like them.

 

Yeah, I forgot about that aspect.
