Crazy what these companies get away with when good company’s are short drivers when they pay the best and require the least effort

I was curious someone said that we got paid to do a pretrip? Last time I checked we only were paid by the mile and that’s it we don’t get paid to pretrip, post trip, sweep out trailers, drop and hook, fuel up trucks, sit and wait on loads to be unloaded or loaded until the two hour detention time kicks in then that’s a struggle to get paid for, scanning and sending in bols am I missing anything however I still do my pretrip and post trip like I’m suppose to but no we don’t get paid for doing that maybe some companies do but not mine

They are welcome to leave I am certain most would jump at the chance work for them even with the insane phone policy they must have access to make sure you are not doing stuff you shouldn't. Here's me people complain the policies but most them don't understand or care their perspective prob one your peers in the company did something to make them put strict rules so really you can only blame your fellow drivers to why they get strict. They aren't a mega carrier like say, knight-swift they don't want pay lawsuit because the driver decided they choose what part the job they want do or not do. I Am told starting pay lower and the way to enter also relaxed compared previous again if this is true perhaps you can blame your co-worker they expect professional drivers with that pay if they cant why should they pay top dollar if the driver just gonna screw them. You, driver, have an accident semi and some car various reason your fired your issue is done with there's just started lawsuit possible fines the company is almost as responsible as the driver so they can get fines just like the driver.

Once again folks...This is a warning...not a complaint dept...Want my fellow associates to keep their jobs...even when safety is trying to fire up to 11% of us every year.

This reminds me of the place that lets me park my truck at there facility (a ready mix outfit). Every morning when I get to my truck, I hop in, log into my Elog as on duty, hop out and start my pretrip. One day the site manager there and me were talking and he told me "Yeah, one of my drivers came in and got me the other day, took me outside and said "what's that guy doing over there? I see him out there every morning do that."". The site manager told me he told the guy "He's doing what you're supposed be doing everyday".

    Lol

I noticed awhile back that they have to take some of handheld scanner looking thing and scan different areas on the truck to prove they pre-tripped the truck. I'm still not sure that accomplishes anything other than they're forced to literally open the hood and scan a couple of stickers.
