They will run over the hoses, cones and walk right up while you are dumping the fuel smoking. The public is one stupid group.

Not really. I've worked some rough spots and people for the most part leave you alone. Funny, the more affluent the area, the more @$$holish people are. Regular folks respect the work. Nobody gets in my work area. There's weird people in all walks of life. Act accordingly

I’ve only been in it a year and yes I have met some strange folks.. have I ever get in danger? No, but then again I grew up in a rough part of town. Can’t carry a gun but don’t feel I need to, but have plenty of self defense.... I mean tools to help with the job. I have a nice array of wrecker bars to pop lids if you hear what I’m saying...bunch of screwdrivers . So its always within an arms reach. But most people leave you alone.

I just got really tired of people coming up to me and asking "got a light?" or saying "fill 'er up please" - as if I hadn't already heard it several times that week.

MrJoop and Kyle G. Thank this.

I had a woman once come up to the truck and read the sign where it says "Driver carriers no cash" and hand me five dollars. But I control my drop area and the past 20 years or so I've only had a couple of close calls. So feeling unsafe in Las Vegas, no not really.

I was dropping at the Green Valley Grocery on Tropicana by the Wild Wild West truck stop. I got there before sunrise, and there were a few "ladies of the night" hanging around that corner. One of them said hi to me. But I haven't had any trouble in Vegas either.
