Thats true, but I like to save money lol If i can fix on the road or temp fix till I get home and save 100's of dollars, Im definitely doing it

God i think I carry too much. I have a 210 peice socket, wrench set i carry, screw driver set, zip ties, vice clamps, air lines and fittings, 20v impact driver and drill, with drill bits, 1 of every filter on the truck, filter wrenches, 50ft airline hose to fill up the tires, Grease gun, knife of course, gallon of coolant, gallon of oil, 1-2 cans of pb blaster, and duct tape

The old man ran a daycab locally. For the most part he kept a selection of air fittings, hose clamps, a gallon of oil/coolant, bottle of gear oil, spare gladhands, headlight, tail lights, marker lights, 7 way plug/receptacle, spare sight glass for the trailer hubs and some heat shrink butt connectors. Most cases he was driving past the house on the way to the mill so if something more major went, he'd just stop in mid trip, fix it and continue on. That was pretty rare though, his trucks were in better shape at 5 years old than most were at 6 months old.

We carry air line splices, extra fuel filters, brake diaphragm, lights, duct tape, radiator hose, and bailing wire.
The drivers supply their own tools but everybody carries a pretty good assortment.
EDIT...This is the minimum equipment that we carry in each truck. The trucks are almost always back in the yard every night so there's no need to carry a lot of stuff.
If you're away from home or out several days at once the more stuff you can carry the better off you'll be.

Good list so far. I’d add a good set of jumper cables.Couple pairs of small flat vice grips, to pinch off an air line. Pipe wrench, pipe dope, cheater bar,extra air Compressor Govenor,( New, not cheap rebuilt) Maybe at least 6 gallons of the old Antifreeze after a coolant flush, I Keep old hoses, belts, wipers, for a while, till I buy new ones, keeping them onboard, for a while, till I replace them. And a tube of seals all, That stuff will fix a fuel leak in a jam. A separate electrical tool box, with an assortment of heat shrink connectors, sheathing, liquid tape, pigtails for lights. Some wiring. Solder iron. Silver solder. A HD bottle jack, old wheel bearings, idler pulleys, clamps, a/c fan and pressure switches, anything that’s still good after a replacement, for future diagnostics, or repair. An extra HVAC blower motor for the cab at least is nice to have, the prices on them has gone up, at Dealerships but you can find them for about half the price on line. Worth having one, it will go bad. An extra mirror, for parking at Pilot. Coveralls are nice to have, a small tarp, to lay on outside, and hand cleaner, Rucker work gloves.Safety glasses. Propane torch. pB blaster, zip ties, duct tape, hose clamps.

Harbor freight 301pc tool set under the bunk in each truck. Ton of hose clamps, extra cac rubber boots, belts. Spare alt. In each truck. (Got used last year saved my butt from the hook)
