Sorry to hear you had more issues. Always something with these emissions systems. It never ceases to anger me that the government would force this on our industry without having a reliable system first. The little guy ends up biting the bullet. That’s why I keep thinking about a delete. My back pressure valve is leaking and KW said to replace it you have to use an updated one which requires changing additional parts and it will be expensive. And I replaced this bpv about 2 or 3 years ago. There are no lights on or anything but when the truck is idling and the a/c is on you can smell the exhaust fumes. Hopefully I can keep working and get it replaced eventually.

Helpful tip: if you ever go into a derate of 5 mph (don’t know if you know) remove your abs fuse. Its a 10 amp fuse. You’ll be able to move the truck at regular speeds again and at least get off the interstate to a safer spot or maybe even to the shop.

    Trooper13 Thanks this.

I need to see those ads. I’ll be driving through OKC next week sometime. Where exactly are they?

Just keep in mind when you pull the abs fuse you will lose your speedometer and mileage. Completely worth it when you're trapped and need to get where you can work on it. Just have to keep in mind for the #### highway man

Careful deleting the DPF period you can put yourself in a bad position that I'm in now I've got a 13 peterbilt Jake and cruise issues stability control light on and someone changed the ecmu in the unit that I bought at auction and now they want 20 to $25,000 from peterbilt who is the only one that can complete the work to reinstall it before they can work on the truck

Yes, there is another option for you besides dealer. You can purchase the davies software kit and annual license to do the work yourself. I think last i seen computer with davies and all diagnostic programs was about 3k and another 1600/year to use.

Think i said somewhere else i didn't understand that the filter is literally a link in the exhaust, i had thought it was an element inside before i really knew. That's why i started the thread.

I live in Wyoming and generally get to work local now. If i could afford the computer and everything i might delete dpf, but having that would be the only way i would. I would absolutely have to be dedicated to doing my own work after delete. Would not be able to get anyone else to work on it

    FYI:
We have had more problems with our DPF.
    Spent thousands of dollars
Finally a friend of ours figured out our problem that not one shop caught...
It was just a broken wire in our DPF wiring harness... Go figure!
He replaced that, then used the Hand Held diagnostic tool & cleared the codes , did a full Regen & haven't had any problems since. Thx to our mechanical friend.
