Hi, I've been driving for nearly 10 years. I was with a starter company for 2.5 and a much smaller company now for 7. At the first company, I had two "parking lot" accidents between 2010 and 2013. At my current company, I had a backing accident in 2019 on a side road that resulted in damage to another vehicle. I was ticketed for improper backing but it was subsequently plead down to essentially a noise violation. Most recently (this year)i rear ended (no damage to person i hit but damage to my truck). I was given a ticket for inattentive driving but it was eventually dropped. I also have a dui from 2004 (before I started driving cdl). My first question is whether or not I need to divulge my dui on a new application as it was almost 17 years ago. Also, if both my most recent tickets were plead down to non-moving violations, is my current employer allowed to report them the way they were issued, or do they need to go by how they were eventually filed with the DMV?
Applying for new job with a dui on my record

Answer the DUI question on applications just as the question is asked.
Have you had a DUI in your lifetime? Yes
Have you had a DUI within last 7 yrs? No
Read the questions carefully and don't add information that isn't asked for.
The companies will find out about the old DUI anyway, but it's not that important to the companies or they would have asked about it.
Don't volunteer any information that isn't specifically asked for.
Go by what's on your MVR and don't say anything about a charge being reduced. Just list exactly what's on your MVR.Wasted Thyme and Puppage Thank this. -
