My method was to let a big slug of trucks go by at Blythe so there was a line out to the tree when I got to Banning- - scales closed do not enter! On the way back I usually went by when the Eastbound was closed.

I was too until I started doing it and realized they rarely chase people. Same with the scale at Citrus Heights East of Sac. Just drive on by.

Yeah, all that room behind the scale and they run you thru two narrow lanes ! But I do notice when driving my 4 wheeler past it, most trucks are just creeping thru and could move the line a bit faster if they weren't half asleep. Kinda' like driving thru a 10 mi construction zone with one lane at 30 mph when there aren't any signs saying to slow down. Some people just freak out at orange cones. Some states say "maintain 30 mph" thru scale and trucks are doing 15 !

For the first time in almost 11-12 years I went to Southern California. I had my 3 day pass and all I was scared to go through Banning LOL. I was going 10 west. Instead I got off at Hwy 62 and took that to 247 and made my way to Barstow!!!
