Can some one post a picture or model number. I can't find one that I think would be good for the truck. Getting a lot of headaches lately and can't figure out why.

    Thanks

Run over to Wal-Mart and get one.

Kidde with a digital display will give you the levels.

    Model KN-COPP-B-LPM

    About $25.

any RV place, any Walmart or box store. You are looking for a carbon monoxide detector.

I ordered a cheap one off of Ebay. I tested it and it seems to work fine.

This is a real thing, not imaginary and a good decision on your part. When I drove for Crete I knew a woman who went to the hospital because some newbie, underpaid, under supervised mechanic installed something backwards on the regenerator on her truck and she got severe carbon monoxide poisoning. The doctor said if she had fallen asleep in the truck instead getting out she would have died.

    From Amazon...
Question: What is its sensitivity? level of CO detected after number of minutes.

Answer: This Kidde carbon monoxide alarm meets response time requirements as follows. 70ppm, unit must alarm within 60-240 min. At 150ppm, unit must alarm within 10-50 min. At 400ppm, unit must alarm within 4-15 min.

That's a pretty high level before it alarms. CO can give you a headache at 20 ppm.

I'm not saying it isn't a good idea to have a carbon monoxide detector in the truck but, aside from the story above, I haven't ever heard of a driver dying from or getting carbon monoxide poisoning. Just wondering how common it is.
