I had a friend whos B/P was higher than that, the pharmacist say those numbers and told him to go to the ER or he would call an ambulance. Thankfully he got it under control with meds and is raising his 12 yr old son, a single parent. God Bless them all.

At 5'11" and 160, you seem to have a very good BMI. And you are young. Your pressure was very good two years before. So it could be one of two things I reckon: 1-The reading is INCORRECT. If she had a brain-fart and used the wrong equation, then all the readings she took would be wrong. 2-There has been a change somewhere in your body. Blockage that you didn't have before?

I would speculate that the reading is incorrect. If money is an issue, go to your local fire department and they will take your reading for free. That is the first thing I would do. Like RIGHT NOW.

Please keep us all posted. I'm very curious on the cause/outcome of this "reading".

Some of you didn't read his post where he tested himself at cvs or something. Using their machine. And got the same reading.

As a former EMT, I don't believe for a second that your blood pressure was exactly the same taken twice in a row. I'm not pointing any fingers at anyone cause I don't know who it is but but there is not a chance in a billion that your blood pressure is gonna be exactly the same twice in a row as the OP is saying the nurse/Dr told him, or as the OP is stating.
Its almost as unbelievable that his BP was 258/123 & they didn't call an ambulance to the Dr's office to immediately transport him to the ER.
If its true that his BP was that high & they didn't immediately transport him via ambulance to the ER on the spot, I agree with @Chinatown, that Dr is totally beyond incompetent.

Dude you need to get that BP under control NOW. Heck with driving. You're going to have a stroke or heart attack soon with BP that high.

True. Never let someone giving you a CDL physical to use a machine. They are not accurate.
