Its definitely hard on your body sleep wise. Without a doubt. Which sucks because if you are teaming with your significant other I imagine it can be a lot of fun, not to mention lucrative.

I teamed for a about a year. What really helped me was we kept the same schedule. 12- 12, sometimes, it got a little off with coast to coast driving, but we'd get back on schedule.
We got some black out curtains on the bottom bunk, so if the driver need to come into the sleeper the light wouldn't bother the sleeper. We always used one of those truckstop tornado fans that were kinda loud, so it would drown out other noises.
I could sleep like a baby back there, when I went back solo, it took me a couple months to be able to get a good night sleep since the truck wasn't moving.

read it in the passenger seat?

the sleeper can be used for watching a boring movie on the dvd player.

it's tough, we all cannot simply have one answer to the situation. it's a accumulation of ideas and advice, that the o/p has to try, one at a time.
