With the exception listed in paragraphs.
Windshields shall be free of damage in the acute area. As long as damage isn't defined in the exemptions.
Kind of contradicts itself.

@Commuter69 what @LDLWells was referencing with the scale house comment is thats what you tell the cop when he tries to write you up for having a big chip like that. “Sir it just happened a 1/2 mile up the road”.
Blowcanner1975 and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
And if I do get written up, I told my office when it happened and documented that I was told to continue.D.Tibbitt and Roberts450 Thank this. -

Just be sure to call ahead and let your dm or shop manager know you need a windshield replaced before arriving so they can schedule the glass guy to come in when you are at the terminal.
This reduces the concern of being cited for having a cracked windshield. -
Flat Earth Trucker and InTooDeep Thank this. -
snowwy Thanks this.

I've had one the size of a quarter low and to the left of my field of vision for almost a year. I keep putting it off, and it hasn't spread on me yet, even though I know that it could at any time. A few years ago a I had a similar one spread on the first cold morning with a frost. I turned on the defrost and that was all it needed to spread across the entire windshield.
MACK E-6 Thanks this. -
Sometimes they'll go forever before spreading.
Sometimes they start immediately.
My longest is 6 months in the summer.
I've got 3 nicks now that will spread when winter arrives which looks to be Tuesday.Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.
