Wow, really chaffed wires.Get the gasket around that hole, or
take a car radiator hose and wire ties and make a bumper around that bundle of wires. Had that on my steering box hoses near the frame and used a hose and like 6 wire ties about a year ago,
just looked at it, and it is hardly worn smooth.

Keep the old alternator; that is your new spare.

    Rideandrepair and spsauerland Thank this.

Yeah it actually had a hose around it already. It looks like the zip ties had broke and it slide down so I have since then fixed that issue.

And yeahhh mmm wish I could have kept the old alternator but I broke it lol Had to use old pully off alternator. Only wayI was able to get it off was too hammer screw driver inside alternator and impact it off. The socket cap that you us to hold the shaft on the alternator had stripped out and had no other choice.

Just curious have you ever done a voltage drop test on your cables?. Will let you know if hidden corrosion has wicked up inside the cable and causing high resistance and voltage to drop across the length of cable.

    OK; fair enough.
You know how many tools in my massively over-sized toolbox I have bought for just one use, in 45 years?
Hard to buy it, or rent it, if every place is closed.
Most shafts like this have a taper cut on it, to lock pulley in place,
and a keyway cut on the taper, and key, so it won't spin.
I have taken two 1/4" X 3" wide steel plates about a foot long
and inserted them around the shaft behind the pulley.
You can get fancy and hole-saw a hole between them,
so they come together, then tack weld the seam on the ends.
Propped up two cement blocks on end, then lay plates across
the blocks. This had the part hanging about 2" off the ground.
Unscrew the nut, just enough to have no exposed threads,
and wack it with a big hammer to shock it. Off w/no damage.

    jason6541 and xsetra Thank this.
