get your license dude and if you dont mind having a labour job then go work for the delivery companies like Sysco, Gordon or try getting hired at construction companies. DONT GO LONG HAUL BRO
BigHossVolvo and GuitarDude Thank this. -
Bison in BC pays local guys $19.xx per hr, which is brutal considering single axle straight trucks pay $17. That was about 3 years so things might have changed and now they're probably up to $20 or something laughable. The whole thing's a joke. Driver surplus.

from what I was told from bison in Calgary. You sign the 2 yr contract and if you leave before the 2 years are up you have to give back the signing bonus 2k dollars or a portion of it depending how much time is left on the contract.

Yes, I have no interest in long haul. Local or regional for me. GFS pays great, and I don't mind physical. Not sure exactly how much work it is but they look interesting. Was talking to a Gordon driver the other day & he loves it. Of course he was probably 20 years younger than me! Lol

Guess its getting harder to import cheap labour now with the beer virus

For GFS and Summit etc, make sure you properly train cause its super easy to throw your back out and slip a disc and then yer screwed

If you do the DFP program, and leave before 2 years. You owe them the signing bonus, $2000 dollars and the entire sum of the “escrow” account, that they skim off your wages for the first 2 years (at different rates, depending on your time there).
The few guys I know, who completed DFP, never got the full amounts of their escrow accounts; without threatening legal action.
Search my name and Bison and ready my posts, that should give you an idea. Or just read the google reviews on their terminals, their indeed reviews are also a good time.
Bison is a good place for experienced O/Os to make a lot of money, or experienced drivers to get on dedicated lanes and clean up (or LCV) anyone 5 years of less exp, gets put thru the OTR meat grinder, in the slowest, most underpowered, filthiest, least maintained, slip seated, covered in piss and jizz trucks on the road; for the lowest pay in North America.Canadianhauler21, TorontoTacos, superdutyfan and 2 others Thank this. -
Phantom Trucker and skipgears Thank this.
