    $1500 a week take home.
I bring home between $1000 and 1400 a week after 401k HSA and all other benefits but I take about all the benefits they offer

I’ll make about $3000 less this year than when I was at Magnum.. But I’m home most every weekend, and a night during the week, better 401k, Christmas bonus, light loads, and a 72 mph truck with no babysitting bells or whistles. It’s rare I spend more than 2 consecutive nights in the truck....
I have no kids, my wife works, and low expenses so money isn’t the deciding factor for me. Quality of life is better for me when not out 3-4 weeks. But everybody has different priorities and needs in life. Don’t judge one persons decisions using your personal needs... cause theirs is most likely different...

Magnum was a great company to get my start in trucking.....

Maybe. But it’s a lifestyle choice. I’ve done the line haul thing. Done plenty of local jobs and hauled crude in New Mexico and was in North Dakota when things were really popping and pulled in 3 to 4 k a week.

I decided I didn’t want to pay rent, wanted to take my 102 pound German Shepard with me, and wanted a truck equipped for driver comfort. Magnum fit the bill for the last year and I was able to add more than 40k to my savings.

    Everyone has different goals.

Sounds like you got a nice setup going. I have one of the smallest bid runs at my terminal and it's a guaranteed 76K (without counting drops & hooks, holiday pay, etc), home daily, you know all the bells and whistles. Our top rate for linehaul is .70 right now and .72 for the guys that like to run the road. 36 hours, 2100 miles for a good $1100 NET isn't bad. I miss the road, but with my location, I don't miss the ventures to New York lol.

KaoMinerva, Sounds like a great job. Where are you located at? You must be close or in a major metro area.

Morning guys. Looking at the DAP. On the website it says after you'll be ltl, dedicated, or LTD after the 10 weeks depending on need. I gather LTD is otr division, right? I have an email in to otr recruiting. Just not a reply yet. Wondering if you can pick otr and get it. I have no need for home time. Plan to live on the road. GTFO FL.
