On average to calculate the cost of an employee, most corporations use a figure of 32 to 38 percent of payroll. The term most often used is “ employee burden” bet you didn’t know your a burden on the company.

As far as I'm concerned ALL vehicles are crap regardless of where they're made. It's call planned obsolescence, and most products today are designed to fail so consumers will need to replace them. Cars, consumer electronics, even light bulbs are all built to last a certain amount of time. I bought my KW T60 new 2 years ago, and I can't get over how much of the interior is made from cheap plastic that breaks very easily. I broke the plastic handle on the fridge 4 months after I bought the truck. When I called and asked how much to replace the handle, they told me $1800 for a new fridge because they couldn't replace just the handle. When I told them it was under warranty, magically they could replace just the handle. I bought my wife a new Ford Escape 2 months ago, and it's been in the shop 3 times already for electronic problems. I guarantee it will be the last new car I ever buy. If any of you motor heads ever had the pleasure of working on a car from the 50's or before, you can tell they were built to last forever. Heck I once found a model T ford in a barn. All I did was clean out the fuel system and carb, replace the oil and it cranked right up.

Cause I look at everything in Canuck Pesos, $24.43/hr works out to $32.XX up here. That's at the low end of what an experienced, Journeyman mechanic makes. If assembling cars is considered unskilled labour then they're doing very well at that wage.

Yep, I love this. I always grin when the boys on here start slamming Volvo and foreigners for driving them. Of course, the reason they drive them is because Volvo is a ginormous global company and foreigners are used to them, being that they are all over the world. Not the same for American built trucks.

I know. Personally I have no problem with where any product is made if it is a quality product. I love the modern global economy. My point was that the biggest hardliners are the biggest hypocrites.

I used to haul a crap ton of cummins engines coming into america out of mexico The difference coming from the plant then going to ohio was very minimal.

It might be assembled in America but there ain't #### getting made here.

If it does it's prison labor like pendleton for caterpillar or something.

FL has been building them in Mexico since late 80's.

They've also built them in Canada.

    And Portland Oregon.

I actually think the unions have kept wages at a reasonable increase to cost of living. It the rest of us that settle for subpar wages and benefits.
