Even then it's Detention for a reasonable amount of time for identification and investigation. Upon discovery you're not involved you're to be released without further delay. Excessive detention can be articulated into a 42usc 1983 claim.

42 USC 1983 , I'd be glad to sue if you want violate my rights I'll cooperate as legally required but expect to be paying out if you're wrongfully abusing your authority.

As a former LEO I have no compassion for bad LE behavior that violates people's civil rights.

I took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States and I fully intend to support it.

 

Did you break out people truck windows because you felt like they were inside ignoring your knocks on the door? And felt justified for doing so?

Because that other former LE said it was total normal behavior?

 

Out here on the west coast it's Rediculous. The police ran and "hid" while rioters "broke the windows" outta the police station and took over Seattle,"turn the other cheek to druggies people living in Breaking Bad Motorhomes across from the weed stores, But.. they are Quick to screw with an honest hard working trucker ( that they figure won't put up much fuss. Best comply. Your whole livelyhood can be yanked

 

Don't put this on the Police, they were ordered to stand down, they weren't running and hiding they were actually following orders. Blame the mayor and the governor they were the ones who ordered the Police to stand down. I do agree it's ridiculous. And they keep insisting its peaceful protest.
