We got a 07 international with the acert c15 cat. Seems to me it runs hot gauge only goes up to 240 it'll climb up to 220 before fan cuts on unless idling or shifting through town is that normal? Also horsepower say 475 pulls more like it's 375 anyone got a idea on that also?

I have an 07 W900l nxs cat and the fan kicks on at 210. Yours sounds really high, could be temp sending unit is faulty. There's so many things horse power wise it could be... Check your ACC for leaks and clamps, hoses. Check fuel pressure. Mine runs strong with 118psi. What's your boost? I baby mine and turn the fan on before it gets too 205 temp. Or start dropping gears and slow down. Hoping I can get at least 1.2 mill before I rebuild it.

Boost is 24 psi i would cut fan on but the switch is not working it's my companys truck but i try and take care of it good told em about it's been to a couple shops but nobody has a cure for the switch or power they just keep saying it's programed in the ecm and it needs to go to cat

Just had 2 sensors changed on it still didn't fix cat dealer says by vin it's set to 475 so we're scratching our heads on it and apparently they said the fan switch was overrode at ecm but that was my big complaint i can deal with lack of power it's i wanted to be able to cool it off with the switch sounds like we may have to go to cat

Acert fan on temp is commanded by ECM and is preset by caterpillar to come on at 217 water temp.

Normally the silenoid control switch is what turns fan on or off either by ecm or A/C or manual switch. I bet the manual switch has a bad conection or was disconnected. Or never had one.

Toss in different thermostats. Put in a 205 degree temperature sender that turns on the fan. Live a stress free life of not having to worry about temp. Find someone local to re rate you up to 550 hp. Live a life of empty pockets, lots of fuel stops, and miles of smiles. Get a custom tune, for the miles of smiles, and few fuel stops.

Ok by that then it's not out of the normal cause it's coming on between 215-220 still would love to get switch fixed I'm just use to running trucks between 180-200 so it just gets me alittle nervous to see it up there

Yeah we unplugged the solenoid back in July and just let it run all the time but that's killing the fuel and losing even more power so trying to get it address now. It probably is a bad wire to the ecm or like you said maybe no wire at all but i would think one of the shops would be able to tell us something
