Did that tour last week. Not to bad. Took a little longer getting loaded in Joplin that I wanted but other than that pretty easy deal. I picked up in Lincoln headed back to Garland.

Man I wish they would hurry up with I 70 in Indiana. They were working on this three months ago. Now its worse. The rest areas coming in from the east towards Indy are closed. The westbound exit at Spiceland x123, closed. Had to go eight miles to the next exit to turn around. Didn't have enough time to make it to Indy after sitting in long delays. Luckily, the Flying J had plenty of parking still at 830 at night, which I could see as I helplessly passed by the closed westbound exit. All ends well. 39 minutes to spare. Got my baked chicken, mac and cheese, and green beans served by a cute girl name Bree. Too cold in Dennys. Goodnight from Spiceland IN.

Well, I think I might be crazy, but I guess I'm leaving FCC. I really want to try out hauling different things and experience everything I can in trucking.

I cannot stress enough that I am not leaving FCC because I don't like working here. Everything about the company has been dang near perfect. It's a very well run business that cares about their drivers and gets some dang good miles. I've never had a huge problem with the company at all that made me want to leave. Like I said before, I want to try other things.

I'll be hauling liquid tankers for the first time, as well as hauling hazmat for the first time. Who knows, maybe I won't like the extra work and the pay may not be any better, but I really want to find out for myself. If I ever decide to go back to dry van, FCC is 100% my first choice.

Thanks @runningman0661 for your continuous posting about your experience at this company, since it's how I discovered them. It's been a good run and I made more money than I ever have. I've enjoyed following this thread since I first found it and I may continue to check up on you all occasionally. I'll be turning my truck in either tomorrow or Thursday morning.

What? Well I won’t call you crazy as one must follow their own path... good luck and enjoy the new experiences. Life can get boring if you are seeking other things from it. I’m sure hazmat and liquid will be quite the change.

    Good Luck!!!

Sorry to see you leave, but I understand wanting to get experience hauling other types of freight. I’ve pulled tanker, reefer, flatbed, stepdeck, over sized, heavy, and even did a stint in the oilfield. So I know exactly where your desire comes from. I wish you the best, and maybe start a thread about your new adventure.

Thanks, that's good to hear. And I'm way ahead of you. I made a thread already in the tanker section asking about the tanker industry in general and it's where I found the company I decided to go to, Elliott Truck Line. I think I'll actually make a separate thread solely for my experience with Elliott though.

My thoughts and prayers are with you as I sit at home, about to dive into steak and salmon kebabs.Home for 7 days by the way, enough time to almost forget about the trials and tribulations on the road.

I found it ok but it took me a while. Arrived at 1330 to drop and by 1500 I found the lot and hooked to the trailer only to be met by lines of Joliet International Terminal traffic, then I 80 traffic headed east. Took me two hours to go 44 miles, all due to a disabled vehicle on the ent r ance ramp to I 80. Arrived to my pickup in Addison IL at 1710 to find a preloaded trailer which absolutely made my day! Drove to the Petro in Rochelle IL also to find out they have full buffet and salad bar. Ordered a petite sirloin and from a cute blonde named Tristene. Just a nice way to end a hectic day!
