I forgot to mention that I have driven a semi before. We had planned to start together last year, but I had a baby and backed out after getting my learners permit. He went through with it and now I want to go into it because of my son and dead end job that hold no real future for me. I went on the road a few times with him and drove as well. I need to learn backing as I found that to be the most difficult when I tried it in an open space. I have about 20 hours driving under my belt.

I will look into older trucks as I am not 100% opposed to them. I was going for the new for warranty and piece of mind while I start. Buying new does not guarantee that I wont buy a lemon. Another reason I wanna go new is to get automatic transmission.

    Thanks for your input.

I wanted to buy a house with that money but that puts me in the same situation with dead end job 10 years from now. Instead I wanted to invest that money and buy a house from the income of driving.

I dont understand how I can lose everything in an accident or incident. Isnt that why the insurance is so expensive?

    Thanks for your reply.

Thank you. I will look into W900/389, they are mentioned quite a bit in these forums.

    Appreciate the reply.
