I suspect that the cop wouldn’t be talking like that to anyone who wasn’t acting like an utter fool.

 

.. Yes sir no sir goes along ways...show respect u get it in return most of the time... give him ur paperwork let him write the ticket, pc to a truckstop and call it a day...chalk it up to a loss.... Maybe the cop was a dick but dude probably was just having a bad day and dealing with this moron driver took him over the edge....anybody that has driven down inthose parts more than a couple times know that those cops down there love to write tickets for being parked on the ramps...

 

No not really it just shows the idiocy by these new breed of drivers....Parking to take a 34 hour reset on an offramp...That is just sheer stupidity

 

The idiot truck driver makes us all look bad. I have not had an occasion when I ran out of hours and had to park on a off ramp posted no parking, Oh drivers job to plan his day and make sure the truck is legally parked before the 11 or 13 hour clock runs out. I did find the cop offensive I found the stupidity of the driver offensive. If I was the cop the choice would be move the truck to where ever its legal or I'm impounding the truck.

 

The appropriate fix to this is to widen every ramp shoulder in the USA to 18 feet, and stripe official truck parking spaces.

Call it the next economic stimulus. Lord knows we need it, and the parking, too.

 

Best part about being O/O is that i have cut parking hussles to the bare minimum since i have total control of how i run.

 

Still wouldnt be safe.

 

We could make it safe, by passing a law that says that if you're distracted and you hit something that isn't between the white and yellow lines, you have absolutely no legal recourse of any kind, and you lose your license for a year first offense, 5 years second offense, and for life on the third. Oh, and summary execution for any lawyer who dare try to empower distracted driving behavior by representing such people in injury suits.

 

Simpler to just put up concrete barriers.

 

Just put up a picture of a tow truck.
